This weekend was a personal milestone for me. I was an avid runner and in 2019 started having knee issues. After physical therapy, surgery, and more physical therapy, I can now run consistently without pain or discomfort.
It has been a 5 year journey and I completed five miles. The run was exhilarating and more important than any past running accomplishment. I’m excited to get back to my running lifestyle!
I love running for many reasons, a big one is the life lessons I continue to learn from the sport… hard work, consistency, dedication, a sense of accomplishment, and in this case, overcoming adversity.
If you've had a setback, recognize that it's only a delay to your progress. You can and will overcome your challenges with a plan and consistent action.
